Jabber se docela šíří, ostatně každý kdo komunikuje přes Google či Facebook používá XMPP. Bohužel i ten jde centralizovat a velcí hráči toho využívají -> Facebook to tak má už od začátku a Google se k tomu před nějakou dobou odhodlal taky.
Ve výsledku to pak vypadá tak, že mám v Pidginu jeden účet pro Facebook, druhý pro Google a potom další dva čistě Jabber účty bez omezení.

Because Hangouts is slated to replace Google Talk, this signals the eventual end of Google's "open offer to interoperate" IM "forever."[8] As of April 2013, Google had not yet announced the end of life/retirement for Google Talk.
