Člověk si nepomůže. Telefónica (asymetrie 1:10, resp. 1:20) vs. UPC (1:30 u nejnižšího tarifu, 1:10 u středního a 1:12 u nejvyššího), ani jeden nevyhrává. A na stávajících technologiích ani nemůže, u VDSL rychlost uplinku skončí někde na 5 Mbit/s.
No a u O2 si vlastně nepomůžete ani s optikou, kde chytrolíni z marketingu taky mají asymetrický tarify :) asi "aby si nekanibalizovali drahý služby pro firmy"

Musím se jen přidat, souhlasit a "přilít" trošku oleje do této diskuse.
Upload 2mbit vs 40mbit download je ZLOČIN !
Je to úmyslná degradace linky.Hlavní důvod přechodu na VDSL je rozšíření pásma pro Upload.
U ADSL je upload limitovaný 512kbit.Za cenu horší odezvy linky VDSL oproti ADSL, je to pořád lepší než s tím nic nedělat.
Ten kdo navrhuje v O2 tarify, by se ale měl nad sebou VÁŽNĚ ZAMYSLET.
Navýšení tarifu Optimal je rozumné 20/2mbit je ještě "docela" vyvážené, ale 40/2 ?
Správně by měl být tarif Active min 40/4mbit, ne-li více, na již zmíněný upload.
Modem se mi synchronizuje na 27,8/6,6 platím si Active, tak chci vyšší upload, honění duchů v downloadu nad 25mbit, stejně nikoho neosloví...
Jinak DSL zdaleka není na své hranici, ještě je zde možnost použití dvou párů, nové VDSL modemy to umožňují.
Chce to jen vyšší tlak konkurence a O2, určitě brzo začne používat 2 páry.
V době porevoluční, když se rozkopávala celá republika a telefony ze vzduchu šly do země, tak ke každé přípojce vedou min. 2 páry.
Problém pak samozřejmě vzniká v těch tlustých kabelech od U racků k ústředně kde se pak páry navzájem ruší. To je ale už také vyřešeno zřízením předsunutých DSLamů :) a již mnohokráte zmíněná optika pro přiblížení poslední míle :) -

Ono ani tak nejde o to co komu staci nebo nestaci, me 5M staci a proto mam 5M symetricky, nac 100M down ... (navic samo nedosazitelnych ...). Jde ale o to, ze pokud budu chtit vyuzivat nejaky sluzby typu vzdalenyho uloziste, tak je mi prd platny ze si odtam tech 10 fotek co aktualne chci sosnu behem vterin, kdyz tam tech 10000, co je chci mit archivovany budu ladovat mesic.
Navic trendem doby je proste p2p (mineno obecne vzajemna prima vymena dat bez prostredniku, serveru ...), coz proste vyzaduje symetricky pripojeni. Ostatne, kdyz se podivam na stats svych "ovecek", tak v podstate symetricky jsou. A to jak u soukromych osob tak u firem.

Jiste, proto delaj 70% povozu internetu (celosvetove) prave p2p site.
Od UPC pak ruce pryc, vazne nemam zajem se s nekym mesic dohadovat (celkem nedavna zkusenost) nad tim, ze mam PL na lince, nez narazim aspon na cloveka, ktery uzna, ze tam fakt nejaky PL je (99% lidi na druhy strane linky == totalne retardovani debilove), nacez je dalsi 2 mesice uhanim, aby si teda ten bazmek do kteryho jim tece spravili ....
V uvedenem pripade neslo samo o moji linku ...

teoreticky lze poskytnout na VDSL klidne 100/8 Mbit...
Na tom O2 mi modem ukazoval, ze by tech 50/8 Mbit na me lince i zvladnul, v realu to odhaduji na ze bych se tesne pod tech 40/8Mbit i dostal (ale jelikoz jsem daleko od ustredny, bylo by to s vypadky, a take mam modem za 8000,- a ne ten sunt co dava O2 za litr)
Rozhodne 2Mbit neni strop uploadu ve VDSL2, ale s temi "kvalitnimi" O2 modemy chapeme, ze vyssi upstream by ponekud velmi zarusilo kabelove svazky poslednich mili...
